January Week 4 training update
Rupestrian has been doing well at home and Tim is now quite confident that we will be able to get a run in to him before Cheltenham, although the next week will tell us more. If he does run, it'll be at the end of February, and obviously a vote on possible races will be posted on the site.
Tim is going to try and talk to the handicapper about Rupestrian's handicap mark, to see if he can see sense and drop him a few pounds! Much as it would be nice to think Rupestrian is a 138 horse, and there is every chance that will prove to be the case, especially when he steps up in trip, it is hard to see the logic of having him on the same rating as, for example, Me Voici, the impressive 10-length winner of the Grade 1 Finale Hurdle at Chepstow!
At this stage, it's hard to know which race (Triumph or Fred Winter) would be best for Rupestrian, but we'd like to make an early decision so that anyone who would like to come along for the day can! With that in mind, we'll look at putting the decision to the vote in early February.
Elsewhere, Haling Park has been back cantering for the last week, and Gary Moore is looking at getting her back for a spring/summer hurdles campaign, hopefully beginning around the beginning of March.
Finally, just a reminder that there is a stable visit to Tim Vaughan's yard on Thursday, February 18th. Rupestrian will be schooling that morning, so for those of you who can't make it we'll be posting a video of him in action!
