June Week 3 training update

Haling Park set to make her debut for Tim Vaughan.jpg

With both Haling Park and Garrulous set to run this week, it looks like being an exciting and busy period for the SRC!

Haling Park has been entered in a 0-100, 2m1f novice handicap hurdle at Market Rasen on Friday afternoon, and will also receive an entry in a 0-95, 2m handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on Sunday (Summer National day).  A vote on where Haling Park should run will open on Monday evening at 6pm.

Garrulous remains in great shape at home, and Tim is really looking forward to running him.  He had been given an entry at Worcester on Wednesday, but out trainer described this as 'a rush of blood to the head!', as after such a long break it is always best to give the horse a good couple of weeks between his comeback race and the next.

Garrulous will be entered in a 0-115 at Stratford next Tuesday evening.  It is the only suitable race for a week either side (the next possible race for him is at Newton Abbot on July 5th), so unfortunately no other options on this occasion!

Comments

I do not agree MickHa This is a fine club and we have plenty of hope with Garulous and later Rupestrian I think we should hear what Tim has to say before making such negative comments She was going well and there was obviously a problem for her to be pulled up.

Not commented before and did not see run today. However have watched Haling before and it is never going to do anything.July is nearly here and it has to go.Get rid or this club will suffer.Any club needs hope ,this horse has none.

I suggest if we decide to keep Haling we aim her for a campaign on the flat either sellers or claiming. She obvious has ability but over jumps is not her future.

I watched the race on tv and was really impressed at how well she settled she still isn't the greatest jumper and made a bit of a horlicks of the 3rd flight, but up front she had a clear view jumped the others OK and was going really well looked comfortable on the pace and ground . Then between the 5th and 6th she went from 1st to last and obviously had absolutely nothing to give, it was so quick a loss of everything speed shape and will it was obvious something was wrong.

Lets wait for a full report from Tim/Nathaniel, how long she will be out, how serious the problem is. Then decied based on how much money we get back for her, how much it will cost to fix but based on that first miles form she may well be worth another go I just worry this will reinforce the race course nerverousness Tim was fixing.

Hi 'Chriselks' - wasn't there myself, but was watching the race. I think there was a marked improvement in the way Haling was running - more calm, more cool, more collected and jumping her hurdles in a far more considered fashion (save the one she ploughed straight through!) - I'm with you, providing the 'burst blood-vessel issue' is an easy solver, I think she deserves another chance - there's talent in there and Tim's the best man to get it out of her ... will be interested to hear the de-brief ...

Not wanting to wish any harm to come to Haling and I hope she's OK but probably another reason to get rid 'chriselks'. Once they start that lark you're never quite sure when it might happen again.

I was at Uttoxeter today, unfortunately Haling Park broke a blood vessel and had to be pulled up. She seemed to be going quite well pior to that. I think she deserves another chance.

totally agree - as fit as can be and given room at her hurdles by adopting a more prominant position. Out like a light when asked for something - time to move her out I'm afraid.

Another deplorable run from Haling Park. I don't want to say I told you so but........I told you so. We need to get rid of this filly pretty damn quick and move on to something else that will give us realistic chances of success. No more to be said!!

Another dissappointing run form Haling to day up front to start as soon as they quickened left wanting and soon tailed off, will be interested to hear Tims thoughts
