Trainer: Andy Crook (Middleham, North Yorkshire)

Overview:

Along Came Rosie was purchased at the Doncaster Bloodstock sales in December 2008.  She is a well-bred jumps mare, being by the useful jumps sire Alflora, and out of a Lashkari mare who won over hurdles and who has produced four multiple winners over jumps.

She finished runner-up on just her second career start, in a bumper at Market Rasen last July, and went on to finish 4th in novice company at Wetherby and Newcastle, before running creditably in a class 3 handicap hurdle on her latest start, at Doncaster in March 2010.

She has really benefitted from a spell at grass since, and standing at 16.2 hands she is certainly a chasing type for the future!  However, trainer Andy Crook is confident of plenty of success over hurdles in the meantime - he rates our filly as being every bit as good as Jontys' Lass, a dual National Hunt winner who finished runner-up in the Mares' Final at Newbury (£50,000 Listed handicap) before again finding only one too good in a Listed handicap at Cheltenham's April meeting.  The Mares' Final in March is likely to be the target for Along Came Rosie, who hopefully can go one better than her former stablemate!

Trained in Middleham, North Yorkshire by the Scottish Grand National-winning trainer Andy Crook, she is set to have a full (and hopefully successful!) season in novice company in the north, and is a cracking prospect.

Along Came Rosie is the sixth foal of Seraphim, a triple winner over hurdles and a half-sister to seven winners. To date, she has produced four winners, including Miss Holly, a multiple winner both on the flat and over hurdles, and the fairly useful staying hurdler Autograph.

Along Came Rosie is by the very useful jumps sire Alflora.  A high-class performer at a mile to 1m4f, he has sired the winners of 365 races over jumps, including the likes of Farmer Jack (Racing Post Chase winner), What A Friend (dual Grade 1-winning chaser), Central House (dual Grade 1-winner) and 2010 Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle winner Wayward Prince.

Trainer: G L Moore

Overview:

Kahfre was purchased at the Tattersalls Sales in July 2010, and is a very exciting prospect for National Hunt racing in 2010/11. Bred by the Ballygallon Stud, he is a tall, rangy chestnut, out of a half-sister to Group winners on the flat and over hurdles, and by Peintre Celebre, the former European Champion Horse of the Year and now a leading sire both on the flat and in the National Hunt sphere.

Now a three year old, he ran three times in 2009, making his debut at Newmarket and belng allotted a handicap mark of 65. He is bred to improve with age, and with his size and presence can be expected to make up in to a useful juvenile hurdler this season. As Kahfre is in training with Gary Moore, it is likely that he will be doing the majority of his racing at the southern tracks, and at just £109 a share for the syndicate term, he represents excellent value.

Kahfre is the 6th foal of Minerva, an unraced half-sister to nine winners, including the high-class US performer Sword Dance, winner of the Grade 2 Del Mar handicap (and over £100,000 in prize-money), two further Group performers and Correggio, a multiple winner over hurdles.  Minerva’s dam is a Listed-placed half-sister to the Group 1 winner Fatherland, a top-class two-year-old who won the National Stakes that year before finishing runner-up in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.

Kahfre is by the former European Champion Horse of the Year Peintre Celebre.  A minor winner at 2, Peintre Celebre was a revelation at three, winning the French Derby, the Grand Prix de Paris and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, setting a course record.  A son of the outstanding sire Nureyev, he was effective on any ground and at won over 1m to 1m4f.  To date, he has sired several hundred winners, including 21 in Group 1 contests.

Overview:

A tall, striking Grey, Vinmix de Bessy is the winner of over £65,000 in prize-money during his career, in which he has already won seven times, including twice in his native France.  In 2009, he won a class 3 handicap chase at Lingfield, and as recently as April 2010 he placed in handicap company at Grade 1 tracks Cheltenham and Sandown Park.

An exciting jumper of fences, 'Vinny' goes on any ground, having won on everything from soft to good to firm, and he normally hits form straight after his summer break, as he isn't the type to require a couple of runs to hit full fitness.

Trainer Gary Moore had this to say in July; "he has been out at grass for a couple of months, but is now back in training and we will look to have him back on the racecourse by September.  He is on a fair handicap mark over fences, and he's so consistent."

Shares are available in Vinmix de Bessy for just £89 until April 1st, 2011, giving the shareholder a full jumps season with a proven class act!

Breeding:

Vinmix de Bessy is the second foal of Hesse, who placed several times on the flat in France at 3, herself out of a winning mare who placed at Group 3 level and is the dam of eight winners, including in Group company.

'Vinny' is by the sire River Bay, a top-class performer in France and the USA whose career wins included the Group 2 Prix d'Harcourt at Longchamp, as well as Grade 1 victories in the USA, in the Hollywood Turf Cup and the Wittingham handicap.  He has sired plenty of winners both on the flat and over hurdles.
