Glance Back fine after Taunton run

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you on the racecourse or at a stable visit in the coming months and best of luck with all your racing interests in 2019!

Unfortunately, we didn’t round off 2018 with a winner, Glance Back finishing fifth at Taunton yesterday.  Reservations regarding the trip on a tight track were well-founded and he didn’t jump with quite the same fluency as he had at Bangor, Jamie Bargary reporting afterwards that Glance Back would definitely be much happier reverting to a left-handed course next time.

Looking ahead, we could go to Chepstow on the 18th for a 2m3f, 0-100 handicap chase, though he’d need to be dropped 1lb by the handicapper to get in that race (I’ll give him a call and try to persuade him!).  Otherwise, we might need to go in a 0-110 again (there are very few 0-105’s about at present).  I’m confident he remains a well-handicapped horse, but yesterday’s conditions just didn’t play to his strengths.
