A beautifully-balanced, good-moving individual with plenty of class, this son of the excellent young sire Canford Cliffs is out of a Halling mare and boasts an excellent dual-purpose pedigree. He is a half-brother to a winner over hurdles and to two 90+ rated individuals on the flat including Athlon, who was sold abroad for 120,000gns at the HIT sales last October having progressed into a high-class young middle-distance performer.
The second dam is littered with black-type. Not only is Alexander Divine a half-sister to three black-type performers on the flat, including Group 1 winner Ambivalent, she is also a half-sister to a Triumph Hurdle winner, Made In Japan. This means that, should he show a good level of form over middle-distances as a three year old, he will be a particularly valuable individual at the sales.
Sire Canford Cliffs was an exceptional racehorse and I was very keen to buy one by him at the sales last autumn. Not only does he do very well on the flat, he has already had a Graded winner over hurdles (Cliffs Of Dover).
He has now been broken in and is currently in training. At this stage, I see him very much as a midsummer two year old who will then progress and reach his peak at three and beyond.
