Royal Mezyan fine after Wolverhampton return

Royal Mezyan is absolutely fine this morning after a good comeback run at Wolverhampton yesterday evening, where he finished in midfield in the concluding 6f handicap.

A little keen off a slow gallop through the early stages, he was shuffled back through the pack and was almost last turning in, but he kept on nicely and was beaten less than 4 lengths at the line.

He has always needed a run to put him right in previous seasons and, now that we have that out of the way, we can plan for an exciting summer ahead!

Looking ahead, I would like to aim him at the 5f, 61-80 handicap at Sandown Park on Saturday 16th June, the race in which he was beaten just a neck last year.

We’ll be looking to have two runs before that though, hopefully including one of the following:

12th May: 6f, 66-80 handicap at Ascot

18th May: 6f, 61-75 apprentice handicap at Newmarket

19th May: 5f, 71-85 handicap at Newmarket
