Teodula shows promise at Yarmouth
I couldn’t have been happier with the debut run of Teodula, who looked a filly with a good deal of ability when seventh on her debut at Yarmouth on Thursday.
The daughter of Tagula is an athletic, scopey individual and travelled noticeably well in rear in what was a very good maiden for the course. Though she wasn’t able to get to the leaders, she kept on nicely under a sympathetic ride from Fran Berry, who was particularly bullish about her prospects afterwards.
Henry has long been saying that she is a very nice filly in the making and she certainly looks it – thankfully, she also has a pedigree that suggests there could be lots more to come, as she is a half-sister to a Listed-placed filly, and out of a half-sister to smart sprinting fillies Duchess Dora and Stepping Out.
She looks a lovely prospect and, though we may only give her one more run this term before putting her away for a three year old campaign, she is certainly one to look forward to.
