Two Year Olds update

Picture Poet was another to run below form at Newcastle.  Again, given the way the track was riding I’m inclined to put a line through it and judge him instead on his next run.  Hopefully he can go close, but either way he’ll have a handicap mark afterwards and that will give us plenty of options.

Henry is desperate to run him on turf, but given he is against risking him on fast ground, we’ll have to have one more run on the AW and that could be at Wolverhampton back over 6f next Monday, entries for which close today.

Compton McKenzie (pictured) will also start off on the AW, in a novice median contest over 7f on the 18th.  He is a chunky individual and still looks a little on the tubby side, so I’d expect him to come on for the race both physically and mentally, but he is definitely ready for a run and is showing up nicely in his work.

I have had a very positive update on the Tagula filly (who needs a name – more on that below!), who has done a couple of nice pieces recently.  Henry stlll feels she’ll need another three weeks or so, but he couldn’t be happier with her.
